Frequently asked questions

If your question is not answered here, send it to us directly and we will respond

How do I start working with Diwan Al-Hakma?

Send a request through the contact form, message us on WhatsApp, or call. We begin with a short scoping call to understand the matter, then send a written fee proposal setting out the scope and deliverables before any work starts.

Is the first consultation free?

The initial scoping session is complimentary; its purpose is to understand your matter, establish the required scope and estimate fees. A written legal opinion or any substantive work on the file is subject to the agreed fee.

How are fees determined?

We offer five engagement models: pay per service, a discounted monthly package (SAR 5,000 a month), a monthly package (SAR 10,000 a month), a comprehensive package (SAR 200,000 a year), and on-demand. Fees are set by headcount, scale of activity and the required compliance scope, weighing the financial and operational impact. All prices are exclusive of VAT.

Do you represent clients before the courts?

Yes. We represent clients before the competent judicial bodies at every level of litigation, prepare statements of claim and pleadings, track the case with periodic reporting, and then commence and follow enforcement through to closure of the file.

Do you work with foreign investors and international companies?

Yes, and we maintain a dedicated foreign investment and corporate function. We cover legal feasibility studies, selection of the appropriate entity, issuance of the commercial register and licences, registration with government bodies, alignment of legal structures with regulator requirements, and the drafting of G2G, G2B and B2B agreements.

Which cities do you operate in?

We serve clients in Riyadh, Jeddah and Khobar, with our head office in Al-Rawdah, Jeddah. A great deal of advisory and drafting work is completed remotely; attendance in person is determined by the nature of the matter and the competent judicial body.

How confidential is the information I share?

Confidentiality is one of our core values and a professional duty. Every piece of information we receive is treated in strict confidence, and personal data is processed in line with the Kingdom's Personal Data Protection Law. We request sensitive documents over a secure channel, not through the website form.

How long do matters usually take?

This varies materially by matter type. Drafting a contract or a written opinion may take days; incorporation takes weeks depending on authority response times; litigation and enforcement follow the judicial bodies' own schedules. We give you a written time estimate in the fee proposal and keep you updated with periodic reporting.

Do you provide notarisation services?

Yes. We provide statutory notarisation services without the need to attend the notary public, and we notarise partnership, investment and other agreements with the competent authorities.

What if my matter is urgent and outside working hours?

Working hours are Sunday to Thursday, 9:00 to 17:00. WhatsApp requests are received around the clock, and if you flag a request as urgent it is placed before the responsible adviser in the first working hour. For matters with an approaching statutory deadline, state the date explicitly in your request.
